I have an offer in Abu Dhabi and need your hlp to decide for my relocation? |
Travel Info The company is ADWEA and offer is gross Dhs.11,800 with housing. can you tell me is it enough for a decent life of four. Also company will provide children education, medical for family, insurance and annual air ticket Travel Tips By working for ADWEA I won't be worried about a thing. Salary package also sounds good to me especially that housing is provided. Hope ADWEA will help you to find a nice place to stay and not only paying for it. Right now Abu Dhabi is short on affordable apartments due to some greedy landlords. If you would like to check out some price for groceries and household items you might like to check this site: http://www.carrefouruae.com/english/carr... Carrefour is a big supermarket and you for sure will do some shopping there. Besides these big supermarkes you will find many small supermarkets run be Indians with all kind of Indian products for reasonable prices. I do not know how anybody should be able to know how much you can save. Who knows about your lifestyle? That's something you and your wife have to figure out after you got settled. Take care! Source(s): Abu Dhabi Other Travel Tips Yes, it is enough. You dont pay any taxes. Best wishes! This is good offer, but ;please ensure that it is properly written on documents before u proceed. I am not sure where you are from but 11,800 is U.S. $3212. Do you make that much now? If so then I think you can start to consider the job. You will not pay taxes which is the reason most of the Western expats live here. That being said I think you need to ask if you will get a certain amount per year for housing or are they going to provide housing. If they are providing it, did you see pictures of the apartment? Is it up to your standard? If you are used to an American type of lifestyle than I think a starting point for a single person, 1 bedroom apartment in Abu Dhabi should be no less than 60,000 dirhams per year. This will get you a small apartment which is probably smaller than what you are used to in the US. Less than that might not get you a modern, clean, and socially equitable (sorry for the word choice) apartment that would go along with your salary. Apartments here have been going up terrifically in the past two years and luxury rooms are easy to find but this middle income price range has become difficult. As far as you having enough money then you will have to decide. Some people come and spend a lot to shop and travel, both of which is excellent and world class here. Food may be more expensive then what you are used to paying... more than US prices but not as expensive as say the Caymen Islands. If you take the inexpensive taxis then you will save money. Entertainment varies. Drinks in the hotel bars are about the same as US prices. Movies are a little more expensive. Restaurant prices are about the same and are of the same quality as the US. Going to a "broadway touring" show such as musical "Chicago" which is coming soon to the Emirates Palace is over three times what I paid to see it on Broadway in New York. Cultural activities are not as varied as what you may be used to if you are from a large European or American city but they are getting better and more are in store. That said, come and enjoy. Don't get in debt here, the banks will trip over themselves offering credit cards and loans and will actually loan you more than you can comfortbly pay back, so be careful. I have been here for 5 years, kept my credit card from home, didn't get any loans, rode taxis, and limited my shopping. I have traveled around the world, helped put my children through college and saved a little for the rainy days ahead!!! Come and enjoy!!! |
