Acoomodation in Abu Dhabi...? |
Travel Info Hi everyone, I've heard so many different stories about find a place to live in Abu Dhabi, that my head is suffering!!!! Is there any one out there who lives in Abu Dhabi, and could tell me a realistic ruff price for a 1 or 2 bedrooms house/flat, with swimming pool and parking facilities... I realise that most landlords will ask for a year advance payement; could you please precise whether the price you give is anually, or monthly? thank you somuch for your help!!!! ps: i need to find somewhere ASAP, so if anyone knows any adresses while we're there... :-) Travel Tips Hi, current rental prices in Abu Dhabi One bedroom from Dhs 40.000 to Dhs 60.000 Two bedroom from Dhs 70.000 to Dhs 85.000 (average prices by Gulf News) I am 100 per cent sure that flats in the a.m. category do not have a pool. They will be located in high rises, a couple years old and come with big parking problems. Flats in high rises with a pool on the roof and underground parking you will find in newer buildings for an estimated prise starting with Dhs 100.000. Villas are mostly bigger than just one or two bedrooms. Villas in general come with a maid's room, mostly a hall and two sitting areas/rooms. One for men and one for women. Most villas start with 3 or 4 bedrooms. For a villa with a pool you have to calculate around Dhs 150.000. Rents are given yearly and mostly paid one year in advance by forwarede cheques. Right now finding accomodation is harder than affording. Here are some articles to give you an impression about the housing situation: http://archive.gulfnews.com/articles/07/... http://archive.gulfnews.com/articles/07/... http://www.bestwaytoinvest.com/abu-dhabi... Take care and good luck! Source(s): living in Abu Dhabi Other Travel Tips The person who answered this question earlier provided a wealth of good information. I would only add that prices seem to be going up virtually daily and the information on one and two-bedroom flats in highrises is probably already out of date (prices too low). I vacated a flat nine months ago that I was paying 65,000 per year for; that flat is currently renting for 84,000 and it is not in a very nice building. There is an acute shortage of accommodations in Abu Dhabi. People pay quite a bit of money under the table (say 5,000 dirham) in order to get into a building. You will find it difficult to find ANYTHING quickly, and will probably need the assistance of a real estate agent to find anything at all. Sorry to be so pessimistic, but I have lived in Abu Dhabi for two years now and I can tell you from my experience and the experience of colleagues at my workplace that it would be easier (and perhaps cheaper) to find accommodations in downtown Manhattan. |
