Religious books are prohibited?

I was reading questions about Abu Dhabi and one of the replies indicated that religious books (eg chistian) are confiscated at the airport, is this true? What I know so far is that Abu Dhabi is tolerant of other religions, I know one catholic chuch there.

there is no constitution in UAE ( for the 1st answer)... so do not try to "fight for ur rights" in Abu Dhabi

It is not true that religious books are prohibited. First of all nobody will check ur luggage for the subject of which kind of books do u have inside. I brought Bible from my home country to Dubai, even alcohol- nothing happened in the airport..
But it is true that nude content magazines or DVDs will be confiscated if they find these items in the airport...
It is ISLAMIC country at the end of the day

It's the first time I heard of this. I have several friends who bought religious books with them from their home countries. Besides, if such books are available in local bookstores, what's the point of confiscating it?

I think what is banned are books that have black propagandas against Islam and the prophets.
Abu Dhabi is extremely tolerant towards other religions too. It isn't true that they confiscate religious books at the airport if they aren't Islamic. I know this, because I had lived there for the past 13 years or so, and I had frequently travelled out of UAE and back in. Yes, there is one Catholic Church there:

There is also a school there of the Church, that follows the CBSE system.

The Church has masses in Arabic, English, French, Urdu, Malayalam, and even German and Polish, but I'm not sure of the last two.
