I plan 10 day vacation in Dubai in July. What cost for 2 people I should expect? without plane tickets.? |
Travel Info I am planning vacation for two in Dubai in July. What are daily expenses, such as food, taxi, attractions ?(cost of airplane tickets and hotel I am able to find on my own). Can you recommend an inexpensive hotel where you stayed and you liked it ? Travel Tips Food: at food courts (burgers, pizza, local, Chinese, etc) = 20-40 AED (1 USD = 3.67 AED fixed). Restaurants are more expensive, vary depends on the food and class. Taxi: in the city center, up to 25 AED per trip except traffic. Some excursions are outside of city center like beaches, Mall of Emirates, Burj Al Arab, Madinat Jumeirah cost up to 50 AED. From airport to city center 40-60 AED (includes extra charge). Don't mix with a mall called "Deira City Center". Get an international driving license or temporary driving license (for some countries). Might be more cheaper than taxi if you're hoping from one place to another a lot, especially out of town. Car rent approx 125/day, 750/week, 1700/month (all in AED). Off course, get a detail map of Dubai. Don't worry about petrol, it's damn cheap, only 6.25 AED per gallon. Hotel: there's no cheap hotel in Dubai. The "cheap" but good one (stayed there and OK) for example Ramee Hotel Apartment (in Rolla Street, Bur Dubai) costs about 300 AED/night. Check venere.com. Other choices within the same price range: London Crown, London Creek, Regent Palace, President. Beware, some other "cheap" hotels are not good (in crowded area or popular as "love hotel"). Others A friend that went for 10 days told me same prices as U.K. for dinner and the like if not more. The cost of hotels are high and tend to be about 30% higher than the US. or Europe. There are no inexpensive hotels in the 3-5 star range. Eating out is about the same as US and Europe but unfortunately in the hotels now you will get a service charge of 16% and another 10% for a tourism charge which is a nice way of saying tax. So now with this 26% added on makes it discouraging to eat at the hotels. There are fast food places and restaurants not attached to hotels that are cheaper to eat in. You know the same old fast food places and restaurant chains you find all over. It is cheaper to eat shwarma sandwiches on the street, about US $1.50. Taxis are not cheap in Dubai like they are in Abu Dhabi but they are still cheaper than Europe or US. I would advise looking at a map of Dubai and stay at a hotel near what you want to visit.
