Women in UAE, of all nationalities, please answer this? |
Travel Info im thinking about opening a salon in Dubai, but i have very different ideas about what i want than what is available here. however, since i want my salon to be very different and unique i wanted to ask you girls what would you wanna see in a salon? what do u want to experience? what new ideas would u like to see here? u can give me ideas from salons in ur home countries if u want.. thank u :) Travel Tips first I think it's a great idea to open up a salon in the Emirates as women over there do pay a lot of attention to their looks. Now let me tell you something, this is really not the right place to ask this question. You are opening a business, that means you are spending money, lots of it. I would recommend that you set up an appointment with a small business advisor, usually in banks youwill find a bunch of experienced people. Those are the ones who will tell you what's the right place to open such a business, what customers to target, etc... They will even tell you what range your prices should be depending on the area where you want to open the salon now this is easier said than done because those advisors cost money too! But if you could have one, go for it! If not I will try my best along with the other fellows out here to share the best of what we know. In a salon in the Emirates I would love to see hygiene to start. cleanness. I would love to see experienced women who really do want the best for me (not advice me a certain color just because it's more expensive). I want to have people who know what they're doing and poeple who have a classy taste in beauty (not someone who will color my hair in orange and call it beautiful blonde) as to what to experience, trust me women love flattery. But do mean it, like, be honest in compliments. For instance a woman comes to you to do her makeup, you see she has beautiful eyes, say: "you have gorgeous hazel eyes, I would use this color to make their color pop out". Have a crew of very lovable women, nice people who smile to customers and make them feel comfortable. Know who you're dealing with, If you open it in a middle-class neighborhood, don't intimidate you customers by setting high prices or snobby-like staff. On the other hand if the neighborhood is wealthy, make your staff act polite and nice but don't let them try to talk too much or get too personal with these customers. Make it a clean, peaceful and glamorous place for girls and women to gather and have the service they want done nicely in an affordable price :) Best of luck honey, you never know, I might be one of your customers someday! mwah :) Source(s): I also agree with swethal and H Other Travel Tips Sorry I'm not a woman but I've general idea abt the Saloon in Dubai. What I've noticed in Dubai is that Saloon is divided nationality wise... or may be continental-wise. The saloons in Burdubai, Karama & Deira are most popular with south asian like India, pak, bangladeshi etc. The Saloons in Ghusais, Hor Al Anz are popular with Arabs customers. The Saloons in Jumeirah, Sheikh Zayed...Europeans, Americans visits often. The percentage of other nationality switchting between the abovementioned 3 three types of saloon is very less. So when opening up new salon it is very important to see the location and the types of ppl visiting there. Secondly when knowing the types of ppl, the saloon shd be designed according to their choice. Before you are thinking about opening a salon you should think about getting a sponsor who will at least hold 51% of your business and take her/his share. Well, what I am looking for in a good salon is not the interior, it's how friendly and expirenced the staff is. The salon should offer at least hair treatment, manicure, pedicure, waxing, henna designs and different kind of facials. It should have a nice comfortable atmosphaer and people working there should understand my language. What kind of clients you will have will depend a whole lot of the location. When connected to a hotel you will have many tourists and Westerners. The answerer above me is right about certain nationalities going to certain salons. Do you really think it's a good idea to open up a saloon in a city where are so many already? Did you ever think about all the laws to fulfill (opening a business, having employees etc), the skyrocking rent and all the money you would have to invest? The more your sponsor will invest the more he/she wants to get out of it, too. Regarding females' needs/wishes there are still other undeveloped fields where you might have better chances to establish a business. Just my personal opinion. Take care! Abu Dhabi A salon near my apartment complex was open for 2 months total. |
