I'd like to know what living in Vancouver is like.? |
Travel Info Please provide information on education, housing, transportation and standard of living. Travel Tips Well, one thing about it is that it's known as the wet west coast. Get that umbrella out. Housing is VERY expensive.....you're looking at prices in the millions and renting an apartment can be like $1000 a month. If you have your own car, be sure to leave early to avoid the rush hour. A good thing about Vancouver is that it's one of the best cities in Canada to live in. Others Beautiful place to live with but prepare to pay. Been there, done it, couldn't balance the income and spending. But I'll still visit it again in the future. Pros Beautiful coastal city with bays, lagoons, islands, rivers and mountains all within an hour drive. Mild weather with distingished change of seasons and length of daylights. Generally clean and green enviroment and not overly populated. Mix of culture and good variety of cuisines and activities. Cons High cost of living inclusive of housing, taxes, insurances and education. Poor employment opportunities and lower wages. Poor public transportation and a very outdated grid in the downtown area. All in all, Vancouver offers great quality with the according price tag. It is also a much better place to spend than to earn. |
