Travel Info What are the things you like about Vancouver and the rest of British Columbia? Travel Tips Vancouver and the rest of BC does have for the most part, beautiful scenery. Vancouver is blessed with being on the Fraser river delta, along the Pacific Ocean, and Coastal mountains. The rest of BC is amazingly diverse with parts having desert climate; or rolling pasture land; thousands of coastal islands; coastal temperate rain forest; or miles of frozen mountain peaks. Vancouver can boast about it's great outdoor activities: yachting; scuba diving; skiing; windsurfing; fresh and salt water fishing; rollerblading; mountain biking; horseback riding; beach volleyball; golf; etc. Because it seldom snows in downtown Vancouver we can do most of these activities all year round. We are also known for our restaurants: a large variety of diverse restaurants ranging from homestyle to fine dining. Because we are such a young modern city we do not have much in the way of historic architecture, monuments, art galleries, or museums. Vancouver is a recreational city! Skiing is great! except when you do it around people who are really good at it. BC license plates carry the slogan "Beautiful British Columbia" -- which is, indeed, a justified claim. The province is incredibly scenic from the sea to the mountains, there are spectacular vistas virtually everywhere. Vancouver has been rated one of the most livable cities in the world year after year. It also is set in a beautiful setting by the Georgia Strait and adjacent to the coastal mountains. It has tremendous cultural activities and plenty of things to do, no matter what you desire from outdoor activities to fine restaurants to sporting events. The mountains, the people, the beauty of our gorgeous province. British Columbia has some of the most breathtaking scenery. We have traveled extensively and it is true "there's no place like home" |
