Travel Tips Tofino/Ucluelet Just South of Tofino, Ucluelet is somewhat less crowded with tourists than Tofino.. the two are separated by the 12 miles of Long Beach http://www.ucluelet.com/todo&see.htm... Greys, Humpbacks and Orcas can be seen there and around Barkley Sound.. Tofino on the other hand has more tourist anemities and the whale museum.. but as the two are only 12mi apart - you can do both! Source(s): I've done both Other Travel Tips i have only been to the area once, so am sure there r many more more qualified to answer ur question, but from my experience it is hit or miss. when we were told we were seeing a whale about all i saw was a splash in the water. but vancouver in general is one of the most interesting places i have been. vancouver or victoria On the cliffs above wreck beach near Sooke..Although it depends on the time of year, and the type of whale you want. Seen the Orcas many times from there.. Well first let me just clarify that there have never been nor are there any anticipated sightings of whales on Vancouver Island. However you may be a little more successful in your endeavour if you looked more towards the sea. |
