I live in Toronto and want to move to British Columbia in a community that is not expensive.?

Travel Info
I prefer a larger city like Vancouver, but I don't think I can afford to live there. Are there other areas that are more affordable. Is Surrey affordable? I am single with two kids.

Travel Tips
I used to live in the Lower Mainland. Langley actually. We have moved to Prince George. It is very reasonable to live here. You can buy a house for 150,000 and it is a decent house. The city has about 100 000 people. You should look in to it. We made a great choice.
Good luck.
Others
You picked it already. Surrey is it. Find a place close to skytrain and don't forget most areas near the train are drug ridden and a bit dangerous at night especially.
no house is 150,000, in vancouver... maybe a small apartment... surrey is a good location as it is close to downtown and is near skytrain. BC is a great place but it will cost alot to live here. too much!
Surrey doesn't have a very good reputation.....at all! If you have kids you'll want to steer clear. Perhaps move closer to the Okanagan....Penticton, Vernon, Kelowna (more expensive but also more big cityish - Penticton and Vernon are close enough to take advantage of Kelowna)
Try out on the Island there are some places that are nice and the cost of living isnt bad
