Can i ask her this on her birthday?

can i ask the girl i like to be my gf on her birthday ? we've been going out for a while. is asking her on her birthday too much pressure? or is it ok? what do you think?

You could wrap up a ring or chain or some sort of jewelry that symbolizes that you want to be her boyfriend. It doesn't have to be anything expensive...I've heard of one couple who went steady using a cheap carnival ring that the boy won for his gf.

Then give it to her on her birthday and explain that you wanted to give her something special on her birthday, and so you felt the best thing you could give was your heart!

Make sure that you indicate that you want to be her boyfriend and not that you want her to be your girlfriend...semantics but it means you offering yourself as a gift rather than expecting her to "belong" to you.

If you think it will be a big surprise to her, you may not want to give her that in front of everyone else, since she may not handle it well and you may not get the answer you were hoping for or expecting. This can be a private thing and you can explain that you don't expect her to answer on the spot.

I think it is a very romantic idea. Hopefully she will appreciate the thought you put into this.

Yes, I think it's o.k., but do it while over dinner at a nice restaurant if it's just the two of you. But if she is celebrating with a group of people at a party, it may be better to do it before hand. Take her out for lunch some place really nice, make her feel special.

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

In the middle, have it say, "Will you go out with me?"
