Travel Tips
During the winter time, it's raining in Vancouver while it is snowing in Whistler and Blackcomb resorts. Do dress warm, in Vancouver the day temperature will be between 6 - 11 degrees, while Whistler will be below zero. Weatherproof sneakers for Vancouver and the boots for Whistler.

In Vancouver - visit Stanley Park and while there drop by the Vancouver Aquarium. Wander around Gastown, Granville and Robson Streets, Coal Harbour and Yaletown area - there are some great pubs and restaurants. Irish pubs seem to be very popular here. If you ever get a clear day in Vancouver, I recommend taking the Seabus over to North Vancouver, take a bus to Grouse Mountain, grab the gondola ride up. Grouse Mountain is a local ski hill, but it also offers other activities like skating, snowshoing, some restaurants, but the best thing is a beautiful panoramic view of Vancouver, Burrard Inlet, and the southern Gulf Islands. Breathtaking at sunset! Also go to the Granville Island markets - arts, crafts, local and exotic produce, souviners, restaurants, and a local brewery that offers tastings!

Both Vancouver and Whistler have a busy nightlife in the downtown areas. In Vancouver it's usually around Granville and Richard Streets.

The best thing that you can have is a lot of plastic bags, and put everthing on bags, as we have a lot of bedbugs in all hotels and motels, in particluar in Toronto.

Also, as welcome, at the first night you are going to get a lot of bedbugs in your room, as we really love to see how bugs are eating your bloods, oh yes we have hiden camera to watch you! It is just for fun, bedbugs are going to come with you to Australia
There will be a lot of snow on December so have many warm cloths; also there will be a lot of thieves too, so carry a lot of money to give lawyers to defend you, because in Canada they are going to steal all your money, then Canadian are going to accuse you that you stole money from them, and judge certain would give you ten years in Toronto Jail, that you must sleep in floor, as our cells are packet of tourists!
You have a lot of time...so read all these websites and tell to others in Australia to make a copy of these websites before Canadian police is deleting them!

Early welcome to Vancouver!
Here's my recommendations for Vancouver:
Take the ferry to Victora and check out our capital city! Its very beautiful and is very tourist friendly.

Good places to see are:
Gastown,
Downtown Core,
English Bay,
Stanley Park
Capilano Suspension Bridge
The Downtown Nightlife (Clubs)
Grousse Mountain

As for whistler it's pretty expensive up there, but the whistler village is awesome and so is the skiing.

I've been to Toronto, and my favorite parts were the museums, crazy shopping districts, and checking out all the suburban towns like Oakville and Paramounts Wonderland.

Enjoy yourself and welcome to Canada!
Everything about Vancouver from whitexsaucer is good advice. Whistler is expensive, but is lovely with great skiing. As for the clothing, the weather and temperature in December will vary quite a bit between Vancouver,Whistler and Toronto. Bring clothing you can layer and make sure you have a water/wind proof shell. If you have waterproof hiking boots, bring them, they'll be useful in every area you go, and can handle the snow in Whistler and Toronto.
