What is the best way to spend a day in Vancouver, BC?

Travel Info
I an embarking on a cruise shipt that will take us on a 7 day tour in Alaska. However, I will be in Vancouver the day before embarkment and I'll be in Vancouver for a day after the cruise. What are some good things to do in Vancouver? Would I have time to visit Victoria and/or Seattle?

Travel Tips
You should deffinently check out English Bay, Grandville Island which has a huge market (take the sea taxi over, its the easiest because parking can be hard to find), if your into shopping head to Robson Steet, Grouse Mountain has great views of the city and ocean. Also check out Stanley Park

There is also alot of great ethnic food in Vancouver so come ready to eat!

As for seeing Seatle and Victoria, I dont think you will have enough time but i could be wrong.

Hope this helps

Party, party, party sums up Vancouver. It's basically Canada's vegas, and everything goes except murder, and stealing of course. I don't know what kind a guy you are, but if your into girls, then Vancouver is the place to be, with their brothals and night clubs.
Definitly looking around the grandville market. Get lunch there and there is lots to do and shop for.
sorry not enough time to visit Victoria or Seattle....go up the Sears Tower for supper, then walk through Gastown with all it's shops and restaurants. Second beach is also nice and right downtown, also downtown is the museum....a beautiful park to visit and the highest point in Vancouver is Queen Elizabeth Park with a beautiful view and great gardens.....enjoy
Most of the best things to do are pretty much in the downtown Vancouver neighbourhood. Stroll along the Seawall starting from Coal Harbour all around Stanley Park to English Bay. I also recommend visiting the popular Vancouver Aquarium located in Stanley Park. Go shopping along Robson Street and in Gastown. Visit the food markets, artists studios, and local brewery on Granville Island. Go to the Vancouver Lookout (revolving restaurant) at Harbour Centre for a panoramic view. Pick a great restaurant in the Yaletown, Coal Harbour, or Canada Place area. The Lift Bar & Grill in Coal Harbour, the C restaurant, Bridges Restaurant on Granville Island, and Watermark Restaurant on Kits beach have some of the best views in town.

If you are feeling especially adventurous and it's a sunny day - take the Seabus over to the Quay in North Vancouver, grab a bus to the base of Grouse Mountain, take the gondola up to the top, and enjoy a panoramic view over the city of Vancouver, Burrard Inlet and the Gulf Islands. Absolutely breath taking! Grouse is a local ski hill so there are restaurants and shops up there.

I don't think you will have enough time to visit Victoria or Seattle while you are here. They are both at least 5 hours return journey. Just stay in Vancouver and relax!

Cheers,

Metrotown! Oh, and try Playland at the PNE if you are there during season.
At the Granville Island Market and a trip up the Mountain and eat at Salmon House.
