Vancouver, BC: Characteristic of each communities? |
Travel Info Does anybody can tell me the characteristic of each communities in Vancouver BC? It could be very helpful to narrow down the location to research before buying a condo there. Thank you! Travel Tips There are a number of wonderful communities within Vancouver. This depends on what you find attractive in a community. When considering a condo it is a good decision to get it near a Skytrain station(re-sale). I highly recommend Burnaby. If you like highrise buildings - the Metrotown(huge shopping mall) area of South Burnaby is very good. Middlegate area near Metrotown offers nice highrises as well. North Burnaby offers a selection of new and older buildings too. There are some fabulous older(+25 yrs) highrise buildings and some to STAY away from! Get yourself a Realtor(like me) that works and is familiar with the area and the different buildings. Nice quiet streets, lots of trees and close to the ocean. Kitsilano is very nice, full of families, upper class people, animal lovers, health fanatics and vegetarians. Main street...interesting place. Folksy and new age type people and lots of neat shops. Cambie/Oak, nice area, lots of Doctors and nurses because it is close to the hospital, pretty streets and trendy shops. South Granville, again, lots of trendy shops and coffee houses. I really like false creek area. Lots of markets and Art shops....close to the art college (Emily Carr) There is English Bay...Pricey but nice. Again, close to the ocean and primarily a Gay/Lesbian area, but not exclusively. The worst areas are in East and South Van. Lots of Low income housing and dirty streets. Seedy people and yucky shops (not all areas, but most) Hope this helps. WE live in south Burnaby close to metrotown the biggest mall in BC North Delta very clean most of surrey. ok White Rock nice sea side place very quiet north Vancouiver Ok west Vancouver EXPENSIVE,, The east side of Vancouver High crime rate..yaletown trendy |
