Is Vancouver really a great place to live and work? |
Travel Info Elabourate...What does Vancouver have to offer me as a personal trainer/someone working in the fitness industry? Travel Tips Vancouver has a reputation for being the fittest city in Canada. There are tons of activities year round and some very fit citizens. The fitness industry is booming - don't know if you're looking to set up your own business or hook up with someone already up and running (no pun intended) but this is a great place to live and to work. Others I would sure think so. Vancouver is the most beautiful (and clean) city of its size I've ever seen. If I were to move to Canada, Vancouver is where I'd want to go. I live in Downtown Vancouver and it is beautiful. As well, there is a mindset here about being personally fit, so there are gyms, spas, hiking trails, ski resorts, running clinics, walking groups, and on and on and on....ad finitum.....Just last week it was named the best city in the world. Downside....expensive accommodation. It is the venue for the upcoming 2010 Winter Olympics. As an aside, it hardly ever snows, only on the mountains. It has a climate similar to Seattle. Live there done that. Ahhhhh Vancouver. My favorite city in Canada. The beauty of British Columbia should speak for itself. I wish i was there, but it is very expensive to live there. Just like here in Toronto, so be prepared for high housing costs. Vancouver is amazing. You have the ocean to one side and mountains on the other. They dont really get a lot of snow either, just rain. Fitness is big in Vancouver, especially if you teach yoga classes as well as personal training. Go ahead - move to Vancouver - you can't go wrong. However it is not as affluent as Seattle - e.g: Vancouver does not have a private fitness Club that can compare to the Wahington Athletic Club in Seattle. |
