Travel Info Been offered a job working in vancouver any tips or advise cheers? Travel Tips Congradulations! Vancouver is very big, very beautiful and very expensive. the cost of living is high but wages are usually good. Ski Whistler in the winter and play on the beaches in the summer. I'm sure you'll love it. Others Other then the cost of living Vancouver isn't too bad of a city.. vancouver is the most expensive city in canada, but people that live here love it. i say go for it. Modified 10 months ago Vancouver is a wonderful place to live, but if you are planning to move here, you might want to check out the housing first. There is a real housing shortage here, and what housing there is, is expensive. If your job pays reasonably well, you should do okay. You'll find there is a lot of emphasis here on outdoor living and an active lifestyle. Lots of biking, canoeing, skiing, hiking and that sort of thing. There is a very active cultural life style here as well -- for example, Bard on the Beach, a Shakespearean festival, takes place every summer in elegant canvas tents on the grassy banks of Vanier Park. The various plays run from June through to the end of September, and it is wildly popular. There are lots of live theatre productions, dance productions and music of all types. It's really a great place to be. Hope it works out for you! Everything you need to move to Vancouver (apartment, furniture, people) can be found on Craigslist. That's where I found my apartment when I moved here, and also my pet cat. It's also where I sell a lot of stuff. http://vancouver.craigslist.org... |
