Looking for pet friendly apartments near downtown Vancouver BC, is there a publication or site to find all ? |
Travel Info need to find safe, affordable ($650 or less) place for rent with no pet restrictions (have 4 cats) and prefer washer / dryer hookup in apt. have found individual for rent listings, but very few mentions of apartment complexes. would really like to get a printed publication (with photos and addresses / maps) listing all available rentals within reasonable (15 km) walking distance of area between Vernon Drive and Stanley Park. would like to view when I visit later this year. any help? Travel Tips within the area of Vernon Drive (Strathcona) - check out the bulletin board at the Union Market (Union and Hawks corner) - there are generally a smattering of offerings of a less formal kind mostly shared accomodations (houses), illegal basement suites, etc. you should be prepared to share though as what you want relative to what you want to pay are pretty low for this city - Strahcona's a great neighbourhood and (tradionally) has had some pretty cheap rent offerings. good luck Others You will find absoluttely nothing for that price!!! My sister is walking distance to the park and pays $900 for a bachelor (not including heat!) Check the local papers - The Vancouver Sun and The Province on www.canada.com . General Rule- if a person has paid the extra money to put their ad in a paper (including pics) then it is more expensive that you can afford! I suggest that you apply at co-ops their housing is more affordable http://www.chf.bc.ca/pages/directory.asp... You couldn't even find an affordable place for $650 (or less) in the East side let alone a safe area. $650 or less your looking at outside of the Lower Mainland all together or a place that's probably falling completely apart. Sorry if this sounds somewhat discouraging, but Vancouver is just too expensive to live in. You can always try www.mls.ca to see if they have anything close to your price range. looking for an afforadable place in Southern BC for the last few years. |
