Whats a nice, cheap weekend getaway for a young couple in Vancouver?

Travel Tips
I would suggest taking the ferry to Vancouver Island. Sooke B.C. ( 45 minutes NW of Victoria ) has some of the best bed and breakfasts in the world ( one has been named the best in the world.) French beach ( breathtakingly beautiful scenery and oceanfront campground ) and East Sooke Park is Pacific Coast beauty at it's best. Victoria is loaded with museums and attractions and a must see if travelling the west coast. Hope this helps. Sooke Website http://www.sooke.org/ Source(s): I lived in Sooke for 12 years.

Other Travel Tips
Get on the sea plane and go to Vancouver Island. Hang out in Fanny Bay and send my love to all the staff in the Fany Bay Inn.
Do you want to know a nice, cheap weekend getaway in Vancouver for a young couple, or does the young couple in Vancouver want to find a nice cheap weekend getaway?
If the getaway is in Vancouver -- head down to the Granville Island hotel. GI is the funkiest place in the world, and from there you can walk to anywhere in downtown Vancouver.
If you are from Vancouver and want to get away, head up to Radium Hot Springs. You can hike, swim, sight see, and have a real back-to-nature getaway.
Go to a B&B on the island or just stay at a nice hotel someplace remote.

I personally love camping and with the weather as nice as it is right now, it should be lovely by a lake or near the ocean. I like Golden Ears and Porteau Cove.
As a nice, cheap girl (as in financially cheap) who likes a nice, cheap getaway, I like to stay at the Syliva Hotel on English Bay (that's IN Vancouver). It's right on the beach (free!) at the start of the sea wall that wraps around Stanley Park (free!) within walking distance of the Vancouver Aquarium (cheap! and now educational vs. entertaining!) and China Town (cheap!) and across the inlet by cool little ferry to Granville Island (cheap!). You can walk/sky train virtually anywhere within greater Vancouver from very close by. The Sylvia rates are higher in summer, really cheap in winter (around $80). There's a spectacular falafal take out place right around the corner (cheap!) and a ton of other funky restaurants and coffee shops. Shopping on Robson Street is a short bus ride or walk (about 15 mins) away. The Translink website can help you plan your day trips on public transportation by giving you detailed instructions on how to get where on which busses/trains/etc. Gas Town is also a walkable distance (about 25-35 mins) or a short bus ride (and is free! or cheap!). There's great karaoke at the Lamplighter Pub.
