I live in Vancouver, which has a large immigrant and Filipino and Asian community, there is an special immigration agency here for newcomers and mostly Filipinos called Helping House - I'm sure they can help you, they can certainly help you get settled and connect you with the local community Also, there is a lot of work, and work visas available to Filipino caregivers, nurses etc. I've included the web adrs of the consulate in Manilla - you'll need to talk to them about visas - but I beleive Filipinos have preferred status for work visas good luck!!
