Vancouver BC Gay Night Clubs? |
Travel Info Vancouver BC Gay/Lesbian Night Clubs? I'm going to Vancouver BC for the weekend and need some suggestions for good gay night clubs close to Robson please. Travel Tips the clubs are all pretty mixed, but if you're a grrl - I'd say the Lotus in gastown Celebrities, the Odyssey both in the westend, very mixed more gay man though Numbers, PumpJack - both cater to the older gay man crowd EDIT: you may want to make your way to The Drive, (Commercial Drive) its more of a lesbian hangout, look for info about "flygirl" parties...Robson st is mostly rich tourists (think Rodeo Drive). Davie St is the city's official "gaybourhood" but the Drive EDIT EDIT: gastown and westend are both walkable distance from Robson,,but you will probably want to steer clear of Granville St.. which is cheesball meathead frat boy clubbin strip! Others Just look for the rainbow street flags on Davie Street between Burrard and Broughton streets ...there are lots of gay bars and stores there...if you are a lesbian you might try commercial drive...but I would recommend that you go to 'little sisters bookstore' on Davie Street for more accurate description...if you're a gay male Davie Street is a good place to start. Davie Street is 5 or 6 blocks south of Robson..they are parallel streets and a nice walk...hope this helps...gwm/vancouver there is one on Davie close to Bute st, not sure if it is good or bad . I am not a gay and never been there The Lotus used to have a ladies night but I believe that is now at Celebrities on Davie. Davie is a short walk from Robson, but like another answerer said, cut up a block and walk parallel to Granville, not down Granville itself. If you're not in the mood to deal with idiots from the suburbs, that street is not your friend. Also, it's not a big area of downtown, but big enough to have sketchy, "what smells like pee?" area. |
