Travel Tips
Marijuana, while illegal - is for the time being more or less decriminalized... the population by and large is EXTREMELY tolerant and if you are in Vancouver, it will inevitably find you as it is not uncommon to see people smoking up at bar patios, beaches or even walking down the street.

While there are no "pot tours" per se there are a few good places you can go with a mind to "savour the flavour" as it were.. fortunately too, all three places are all around good tourist destinations regardless of wether or not you smoke pot/.

1. Gastown/Crosstown/Victory Square area.
Gastowns the old cobblestoned part of town and well worth a visit anyway. Look for the Amesterdam Cafe and BC Marijuana headquarters on 300 block of West Hastings (west of Cambie St.) as well as pipes, bongs, seeds, literature and growing tips - you can score around here - but be cool and discrete!

2. Commercial Drive.
sort of a hippie meets yuppie meets Italia neighbourhood there's great eating up this way, as well as some head shops and sketchy street dealers.. if you're short of tie - you could probably skip "the Drive" altogether

3. Wreck Beach.
this is the nudist beach near UBC, sunny with spectacular views of the Straight and Islands - anything and everything goes here - vendors hawk everything from mecaline to pre-rolled doobies to fresh margaritas to watermelon slices. note. MUST be healthy to make the trail hike there and back....If you have time - check out nearby Tower beach - with these cool old abandonded WWII pillboxes and observation towers. Also on the UBC grounds the Museum of Anthropology is a great showcase of the indiginous people's arts. crafts and totem poles - possibly the best in the world.

A caveat though, pot is technically illegal so use common sense and don't flaunt it or engage in risky behaviour. Don't brazenly puff in front of cops (or prudesih looking people, families etc.). Be respectful. Be extra careful at borders - don't even THINK about crossing into States with weed or used paraphanelia. Be careful who you puff with - not all Cdns are nice and friendly (ESPECIALLY in the areas described in 1 and 2). Be weary of street buys, grifters always target "pot tourists" to unload bunk on them - especially don't buy off anyone who looks like a junkie. (again esp. in areas 1, 2)

All that being said, the BCMP and Amsterdam Cafe should be able to set you straight - be polite and discreet, they're totally friendly..
Be careful, be safe - have fun! Source(s): smoker and local

Hahahahaha
Marijuana is illegal here, just like it is everywhere else. Yes, there are abuses and yes, some people smoke pot, but as for a cannibis tour? Hahahahahahaha
do what the local smoker said, he gave you all the goods
