Where's a great site for camping near Vancouver BC? |
Travel Info 1-3 hours near water would be cool Travel Tips Anywhere up around Squamish would be good. Or you could head over to Vancouver Island and camp there. Everywhere on the island is an hour away from the water. Tofino is a MUST if you go to the Island. Wonderful camping, fabulous surf. Or you can do the West Coast Trail, which is a five day hiking trip along the coast. Or if you're into kayaking, do the Broken Islands trip -- it's a week long kayak trip. You can go with a guide or on your own. Check HelloBC.com for info on campsites in the Lower Mainland and on Vancouver Island. Enjoy your visit! Others http://www.britishcolumbia.com/parksandt... I think that the provincial parks in the whister area are the best. Alice lake is nice. If you wanted to really rough it, there are lots of forestry access roads that you could travel down to find a secluded spot (If you have lots of experience.) http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/dsq/engineering... I've heard that porteau cove and shannon falls are nice and near water. Although my all time favorite spot is Christina Lake but that's more like 5 hours from van city Try Bellingham State Park in WA/US http://www.parks.wa.gov or Cultus Lake ( max 1 hr drive ) in BC http://www.cultuslake.bc.ca/campgrounds.... anywhere along the fraser river such as at mission or island 22 in chilliwack, also in chilliwack is vedder camp site or just anywhere on chilliwack road |
