They don't check for felonies unless you apply for a work visa. You will however have to have a passport or serious proof that you are a US citizen to get back in. Some of these are: theft, assault, dangerous driving, driving while intoxicated, manslaughter and other crimes.Some of the issues taken into consideration include whether you have beeen granted a pardon, have been found guilty of more than one crime, the length of time since your conviction and whether you have recieved rehabiltation.
