I am migrating to Vancouver. Should I buy a car from US?

Travel Info
Is it cheaper to buy a Hybrid or semi luxury car in US and drive to Canada or should I purchase in Canada?

Travel Tips
If you are not an American i would say shop around and buy in Canada, several reasons... 1) US vehicles have to be transferred over to Canadian plates and go through impounding for 72hrs, 2) It may cost less in US dollars but they will get you in TAXES and FEES 3)most US cars will have larger print on odometer in Miles rather than KM's which is what we use here. 4) only vehicles of a certain age or category will be allowed to enter. There are more things to it but in short it's a pain in the @$$ to deal with. Happy hunting! Source(s): I am Canadian married a US citizen he is coming here with his truck.

Other Travel Tips
*Yes, much cheaper in US.*
buy in vc.
if your going to stay in Canada we require that all American cars be "canadianized" like you will have to change your speedometer and crap it can be really expensive... you will also have to pay taxes to bring it over the border.. I recommend buying a car in Canada
I don't know, you can do anything what you want....
buy a car in canada, buy gas in US
