Travel Info How long does it take to drive from L.A. to Vancouver? Travel Tips About 20 hours of driving if you take the I5 and you are on a mission! My girlfriend and I drove along the coast a couple of years ago and it took much longer. A good rule of thumb is to plan for 24 hours of driving to account for traffic, etc. Seattle seemed to be the worst stretch of traffic. Portland was not too bad. The I5 bypasses San Francisco so no worries there! Sacramento is a breeze. A tip for driving through Seattle is take I405 in stead of I5 right through downtown. It can be an awful mess if you hit heavy traffic on the I5. I405 bypasses the downtown core of Seattle. Cannonballing with a partner, 20 hours of pure driving. Assuming the freeways are not too conjested as you pass through the major cities like San Fran, Portland and Seattle. I am going home to Vancouver for Xmas driving it's about 1300 miles from LA to down town Vancouver. I will get up at 5am next sunday drive to Medford, stay the night at the holiday Inn then next day drive right to Pitt meadows, BC. so I will be driving 12 hours x2. hope this helps. 18-19 hrs |
