Travel Info - what are the different seasons like? -whats the climate? -what are the main attractions? -is there any night life -good shopping there? Travel Tips Van has four real seasons. Being on the ocean the climate's pretty mild, though you can get hot days in summer and cold ones in winter. Lots of attractions - the ocean, of course, Stanley Park, Chinatown, Gastown (here's your nightlife). You can buy anything you can get in any other major city, which means you can buy anything. The place to check out in Vanccouver is Farzad's Barbershop. Whether you're looking for a great barber or not you have to see this place ---- hands down the most gorgeous barber shop in the city, if not anywhere. This is a priceless gem in the heart of Yaletown --- Homer @ Davie. - what are the different seasons like? cool and damp in the winter, rarely we get snow. fall tends to have a lot of rain Spring - we get earlier bloom that rest of Canada, cherry blossoms etc. Summers are nice, quite warm mostly -whats the climate? temperate, very mild relative to the rest of Canada -what are the main attractions? In the city, Chinatown, Gastown, Stanley Park, plenty of shopping.. there are excellent beaches (clothed and clothing optional) as well as parks, mountains nearby. World class skiing. Museums, aboriginal (Coast Salish - totem poles, etc). Considered "Hollywood North" they film lots of TV/movies here (L Word, Supernatural, Xmen, Fantastic Four..) so there are always lots of movies stars hanging around the Robson st. area.. We also have pretty relaxed marijuana laws (not legal, but for recreational use you won't go to jail or anything..) and some "pot cafes".. which seems to bring up a fair amount of US tourist. -is there any night life Plenty, drinking age is 19 here, Gastown and Granville st boast the most clubs. Live music, nightclubs..There is also a lively gay scene here. (http://www.clubzone.com/home.asp)... -good shopping there? yup, Robson St is sort of the Rodeo Drive of Vancouver.. Bebe, Betsy Johnson, Armani, Chanel and many, many more.. live here. - Basically it's raining, heavy showers, or overcast -very warm and wet -Stanley Park and Whistler -Night life is amazing -Granville Island is the best place to shop ever |
