Would you recommend traveling the Cassiar Hwy to get to Alaska in winter?

Travel Tips
You would be fine, just observe the road report each day before you set out and travel pepared for anything - especially matches and fire making stuff, food, extra blankets and so on.
As for it always being cold in Alaska - what a bunch of rubbish!

Others
It may be an adventure

If you live in Vancouver, it is still far, and much colder, also the Alaska / Yukon area is very isolated so if your car breaks or something you are on your own with the extreme cold, it will also take time as you have to be really careful with the winter weather, you may crash your car easily

I'd rather wait a little bit until it warms up a little bit (few months), it's cold all the time in Alaska anyway...
I live in Canada and drove in the winter!!!
depends what you are driving
if you do decide to do it make sure you have a car safety kit (blankets, matches/lighter, snacks, water, sand, chains etc) you may not need it but always a good idea to be prepared especially in winter...
it could be a beautiful drive...
