Other Travel Tips You will need a marine certificate to work with BC Ferries. They receive so many applicants that they only want the best qualified. I am assuming you want to at least be a deckhand. Look up their website and find job openings which will inform you of what you wish to know. It is very hard to get a job with B.C.
