Relocating to Abbotsford BC area from the UK this summer hopefully. Wife and kids coming too. Are there any areas we would want to avoid when looking for a place to live?
We've visited and driven around the place and everything seems nice, clean and well looked after, but you can't really tell how a neighbourhood is from driving around can you...?

I live in Abbotsford and it is great,I have been here my whole life.The only places you would want to avoid is what we call the "old" downtown Abby,there really isn't any houses around there just dumpy apartments.Countess street is known to be a "gang" area and that is in Clearbrook.We don't really have alot of bad areas so to speak,depending on if you are renting or buying as well.If you buy I can assure you that your real estate agent will advise you of the areas.All in all I think you are making a wonderful decision,Abbotsford is just booming right now and there are allot of people from Vancouver and surrounding areas moving out here.Good luck!!And welcome! |
