Shopping in Yaletown is also great, a ton of little boutiques with fabulous clothes that are one of a kind. It's downtown Pacific Centre mall is just ok, but it's downtown so easy to access if that's where you're staying. There are lots of touristy things to do in Van, but it also has great shopping! pichi told you everything you need to know. check out his links. You would love the mall I bet- Go to Metro town mall. Beach's, Stanly park, Zoo, walk alone the waterfront. fifteen year old girl with her dad? don't most teenage girls like to shop?? Robson St and Pacific Centre might be fun for you (sad for dad's wallet ) but, major attractions include: 1. Chinatown / Gastown / Sun yat Sen Gardens- there's a Chinatown night market on Keefer in Chinatown that's neat, Gastown's the "old town" they have a big musuem/ amusement park underground there as well as lots of tourist shops. There are some great boutiques in the area and on Cordova st. 2. North Shore, either Grouse Mtn or Capilano or Lynn Canyon (amazing views, mountains, etc) 3. Granville Island, (public market, artisans) Kits Beach, ("beautiful people") Vancouver Musuem, Maritime Museum (includes an indoor 19th century RCMP ice breaker the St Roche - first to cross the NorthWest Passage) 4. Stanley Park, Aquarium, 2nd / 3rd beach (a massive urban park, great beaches, amazing aquarium w. whales, fish, Amazon jungle) 5. Commercial Drive - hippies, stoners, dykes, Italians, Portugese and yuppies all mixed together.. good shopping and eats 6. English Bay / West end - gaybourhood, lots shopping eating, great sunset spot 7. Downtown / Robson St - Robsons got lots of shopping, and all the chi chi stores (on or around Robson like BetsyJohnson, Bebe, Chanel, Armani, Fila, Levis, Zara, etc etc) - Vancouver Art Gallery 8. UBC / Wreck Beach - UBC is the big university and has a spectacular native art mueum (Museum of Anthrolopolgy) and an impresive Japanese Garden (Nitobe).. for a walk on the wild side hike down the trails to Wreck Beach - which is the nudist beach - prolly not appropriate for a 15-yo girl and her dad!. There is also a few open air tourist buses that can take you around many of these spots - it mightn't be a bad idea to look into - great way to get your bearings. local |
