Travel Info Anyone ever been to Isla Margarita, is it safe for Americans? Travel Tips Is beautiful! And yes, it is safe for tourist. It's probably the only place in Venezuela where you'll find people dedicated to tourism and willing to help you in everything you need. Try not to adventure into pretty places when there's nobody else around. That's what I can tell you. Don't wander off walking on beaches if you don't see anybody around, or at night time. Some of the most popular places and things to do on the island are: - PLAYA EL AGUA, the most famous beach on the island. Always full of people, shops, restaurants. - SAMBIL MALL, to shop. - LA RESTINGA, be sure to visit the canals and take a trip in a small boat thorugh the canals. - COCHE Island and CUBAGUA island, two smaller islands next to Margarita with beautiful beaches and virgin beaches. Also you have bingos, casinos (small, but fun. I recomend the one at the Hilton), other malls (Rattan Plaza, Jumbo), beautiful towns and churches. Se sure not to miss going to EL VALLE DEL ESP脥RITU SANTO (The Valley of the Holy Spirit) where the main church of the island is in, dedicated to the VIRGEN DEL VALLE. Have fun! And ask for more at your hotel's reception (or take a cab to the Hilton, where they'll help you as well!) Others Yes it is safe. You should only avoid walking in the center at night .Lot of cheap taxis so no problem about transport to go around.You may ask for updates at the hotel reception. yes I have been and it is safe.Obviously there are areas that you should avoid wether you are american,english,french or whatever,but thats no different wherever you go.Where are you planning to stay?... Yeah It's very beatiful, and yes it's safe for US tourists. |
