Has anybody been to Venezuela??? |
Travel Info in July im going to Venezuela to visit my parents. What is it like there?? Is it safe? Will I be able to drive freely wherever I need to go? What is their outlook on Americans? Please tell me!! Travel Tips Yes! Born and raised in Venezuela I can say for sure it is a beautiful country rich in natural resources. We got in a smaller size country than your US state of Texas , Amazonic Jungle , cities that are built in beautiful tropical valleys like the capital Caracas, deserts in Falcon, exotic and unique islands and beaches ( losroques). Not to mention beautiful women. At the time it is going trough a social-political revolution ( movement ), where the president Hugo Chavez is trying to fight for the countries rights and help unify a latin america. It is not safe in Caracas or big cities not for tourists or citizens of the cities , this because of great poverty concentrations in these areas I would recommend taking care , not beign afraid and not going to red zones or areas which are near empovirished neighborhoods. I dont want to scare you just take care and forget that you are in the US, latin america has been struggling for years against corruption and poverty and because of this it is not a safe place yet but it will be hopefully soon in years to come. Other Travel Tips no but I plan on doing it in the future. i havent been there but i have friends from there and they tell me that it is a very nice place to be.....have fun no have seen in movies only. :( It is a great country, because it has beaches, rain-forest and mountains (Andes). Crime is higher than the average in US, but you just need to avoid dangerous places. You can rent a car and drive (freely under the law) although it is expensive to rent a car but gasoline is REALLY cheap. As American citizen you wont have any trouble to enter the country and visit the city, just keep save your documents. About "Chavez", he is the president, he has some speech against George W. B. but nothing serious. Venezuela - USA relations are fine, Venezuela sells almost all its production of oil to the United States. Right now, I'm in Caracas. |
