What do you think of Colombia, South America as a safe country? |
Travel Info What do you think of Colombia, South America as a safe country? Travel Tips I consider Bogota, Bucaramanga, Cali, Medellin, Baranquilla and Cartagena reasonably safe. In all of these cities, you should be alert - be especially careful not to wander into the wrong areas, know what areas (if any) you can go into at night, pay very careful attention to the taxi that you get into. Do not go into the countryside. The main problem is robbery and kidnapping. We had one of our team "express kidnapped" for one night as he was being driven back from the office in Bogota. Source(s): I spent six months working there. Other Travel Tips If you go to the capital or to the second or third city of the department (state) you are going to be very sure. You should go to C煤cuta because it is a nice city and it is located in the border with Venezuela http://www.colombialink.com/01_index/ind... Have a nice day... Ricardo Ram铆rez http://www.colombialink.com/ I'm from there. It's a cool place and very safe in the cities. But some rural areas are not safe. It's very safe, even going to cities like Villa de Leyva, Pereira, Manizales, Medell铆n, Villavicencio, that are not big cities.... It's obvious for everyone that in every city in the world (and i have been in a lot) are places that you shouldn't go, but, when you come, you ask in the hotel and they'll tell you where to go to eat, to drink , to dance, to visit museums, or the old cities.... Bogota it's specially beautiful, and has lots to do, visit: bogota.gov.co.... and in Colombia you can do almost anything, and has almost every large multinacional, from macdonalds to pizza hut, from gucci to diesel, from cocacola to pepsi.... it's as big as NY and as beautiful as any european city.... come visit us! Live there.... bogota.gov.co |
