Hotels in venice?

i am going to venice for a romantic weekend in july. we both are used to staying in very nice hotels however venice is expensive!! we can really only spend 150euro a night. any suggestions for a nice upmarket hotel that is reasonably modern? thanks

You can check out venere.com for rooms, but this late in the season it might be hard. 150 euros is not a lot for a room in Venice and you will not be able to find something above a three star for that price. You might want to consider staying on the mainland and taking the train in. You can find better value hotels and the vaporettos run until late.

We stayed in a 3 star hotel in February for 165.00 a night but that was off season and their rates go up in the summer. You can try contacting them. Hotel galleria is the name and they are right next to the accademia bridge.
