I second the first answerer, Salzburg and its surroundings (Salzkammergut, a place where the Austrian monarchy went on holidays) are a must-see in Austria. However, also try to visit the towns of Innsbruck and Graz. Innsbruck was once hosting the winter olympics and is surrounded by mountains, Graz was recently one of the two annual "culture capitals" of Europe. Go wine tasting in Austria, either north of the Danube or in the south. Or, for a bit of exercise, cycle the famous bike trail from Passau (Germany) to Vienna, all along the Danube.

I think you should also go to Salzburg. It is a nice little town, home town of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and you can see the castle, the birth house of Mozart and some other romantic sites. In addition, try the Mozartkugeln...famous sweets!

Well, If you go to Vienna, why not take the train to Bratislava, Slovokia it's only about 50 minutes by train.
