Can i plug my electronics from u.s in vietnam? |
Travel Info are the electrical outlets the same? im bringing my digital camera, ipod, and etc but can i recharge them there? Travel Tips You can with most of the electronics, but you can't with some. I'm an IT consultant, and I bring a lot of electronic equipment with me when I go to Vietnam. Trust me with what I will tell you. The most important thing is to check the power supply to make sure it can handle 220 VAC. If it can, then all you need is an AC plug adapter that you can buy at just about any electronics or department store. However, in my opinion, APC makes the best adapters, and you want to spend the extra couple bucks as some assurance that you won't fry yourself or your equipment. You may also want to get a universal power supply, again manufactured by APC, before you go to Vietnam for your equipment that does not have a power supply that can handle 220 VAC. If at the least, have it as a back up in case your other power supplies fail. The AC grid in Vietnam is very rough. You WILL experience brown outs and black outs, and you could fry power supplies because of that. The equipment in Vietnam is very poor quality compared to here, so get what you can here. If you're concerned about the cost, consider the fact that you could easily sell any of your electronic equipment for a nice profit in Vietnam. That is especially true for laptop computers. You can sell a used laptop for a few hundred dollars, and you can be paid in US dollars. Good luck, and have fun! Source(s): Regular traveler to Vietnam. Ong Jon's friend. Other Travel Tips They are not the same. You will need a power converter. If you plug it into the outlet you could destroy your electronics and probably start a fire. you need to check the voltage on the charger for these items it will tell you on the plug something like 110 - 240 voltage. Your digital camera should work, I know the ipod will because I have one over in Thailand that I purchase in the USA.. Check the manual also or with the manufacturer. The voltage in Vietnman is 220 voltage. go buy an adapter 110 - 240 voltage it's cheap around 10 bucks!! yes,u can I think that, yes you can plug in yours electronic any equipments in Vietnam. Thus in Vietname has use electrical power as another contries in S.E Asian too. |
