Travel Info hey we are three irish heading from thailand to vietnam in august..can anyone tell us do we need a visa for vietnam and if so how long does it take to get and how much does it cost. how do we go around getting one if we have no embassy here in ireland! Travel Tips You can get visa's in Bangkok at the Vietnam Embassy. It takes 1 day and is really easy to sort out. Sorry I can't remember the cost. The Vietnam Embassy is on Wireless Rd, Bangkok. Source(s): http://vietnaminfocus.info Other Travel Tips hello, here is the link to the vietnam embassy site. http://www.vietnamembassy.org.uk/consula... looks like you need a visa ahead of time although certain nationalities can get the visas on arival in vietnam at the airport. good luck and enjoy your trip. Hi You do need a visa prior to arrival into Vietnam. Usually you send passport and funds to your closest Vietnam Embassy (call for current rates between U$25-55 depending on which Country) and they will take care of it for you. You can get the pre-arrange visa in booking a hotel, a tour ... to Travel Agent. TA will apply and get the authorisation for you. You will receive this document by email. Print this one and show to the immigration at the airport upon arrival. You will pay the visa stamp at this moment. That 's all! I would use Google, Yahoo or Webcrawler search engine with your question. I am sure the Vietnamese Government will be more than happy to answer any questions you have. The visa is not hard to obtain and it doesn't cost that much. We have never had any problems from the States. cheers. You have to have a visa and can easily get your visa before you go by applying by post in the UK. If for some reason you don't, it's very easy to get your Vietnam visa here in Thailand. The Vietnam Embassy is located on Wireless Rd. here, you can apply in the morning and have your visa ready the next day. It costs more for the one day service, otherwise it takes 4-5 working days. It's a very simple process, just bring some passport sized photos, fill out the application and pay the fee, then return the next day to pick it up. They're not open on weekends or holidays here, so keep that in mind. Don't even consider a visa on arrival, as it must be arranged through an authorized travel agent and must be arranged for before you travel to Vietnam, and will cost you extra money. Here's the website in Bangkok: http://www.vietnamembassy.or.th/visa.htm... and the UK website: http://www.vietnamembassy.org.uk/consula... Good luck and have fun. |
