Travel Tips The 'chi chi' chain of stores - clothing, souveniers etc. There is Du Du on Dong Khoi - clothes etc. and a shop near the palace hotel with great embroidered stuff. When you shop at one of their stores you get a list of the other stores. Each is different. Zen Plaza - District 1 Get Asia Life Magazine (at most touristy cafes etc for free). It lists heaps of shopping places with maps etc. in back. Great. Others Its a really nice place to hang out, play games, and shopping Diamond plaza in Hochiminh city Address: 34 Le Duan St., Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Phone: 08/822-7897 Diamond Plaza is Saigon's premier department store and opens late (10:00 am, closed Monday's) considering the city's street stalls are busy from 06:00 am in the morning. The prices are fixed so you can't bargain, but you will find genuine designer clothes from Vietnamese designers as well as imported brands, shoes, watches, sports equipment, make-up & perfumes, CD's & DVD's and souvenirs. The famous brand 'Made in Viet Nam' can be found on the 2nd floor. Tired of shopping? Why not enjoy a game of bowling. Miss fast food? KFC can be found on the 3rd floor. Want to have dinner? Try the restaurant on 2nd floor. Diamond Plaza offers choice for everyone, even a mini mart with a small wine selection. make sure u visit Ben Bach Dang, it is beautiful at night. there are luxury and beautiful hotels there too. There is a lake there, and a small yatch. the yatch is a restaurant, you can eat there for like 40, 50 US dollars. it takes u around the lake for like 2 hours. There are also some monuments and stores in Ben Bach Dang. I go there every time I visit Vietnam. I think it is in District 1. Also, Ben Thanh market is a good place to eat and buy souvenir, clothes and many more. The people there call it Cho Ben Thanh. In district 1. If u like swimming, go to Dam Sen waterworld. It is like waterworld here in the US, minus the long line, and the ticket is cheap. probably around $5. I'm visiting vietnam this July, so exciting. I know i'll have a fun trip wishing you a fun trip to vietnam too. Diamond plaza, Ben thanh market, remember, the streets of HCM city each have their own section on specific products. for example, on row of stores has video games. HCM city beats any city in Vietnam. All the answers you have received are good. I will be going to Big C on 13 June to do just that, shopping, before we take the train to Hue. Big C and the stores around it are great. Any shopping place in SaiGon is good and there are many place to shop. Have fun. cheers. Russian Market, Diamond Plaza There are many art galleries in HCMC. Also, great things to buy there are lacquer ware & tea there's a nike factory near the city and possibly in the city where u can find discount nike products. not sure wat district but possibly district 8? |
