Good disco in hanoi?

Hi,
is there any place the night to go to dance, listen music and meet people. Like disco or bar, i prefer tekno but i like every music. i heard about a tekno disco on a boat (barge), do u know this place? what's name?

Hanoi's night life is not even close to Saigons hectic pace and many clubs. The Toilet bar is where the younger viets go. The CC is ok and there seem to be more xpat bars like Le Pub. Try the Dragon fly for late night partying. and Mao's Red Lounge for comfort and beer. Mao's is pretty pricey. Have fun!

If you want a good disco in Hanoi, you're going to be disappointed. Hanoi is not known for it's night life, because there is a parking curfew in most of the Hoan Kiem District. The whole city shuts down after midnight, and it gets so quiet that you can hear a pin drop from across Hoan Kiem Lake.

The barge that you're referring to was the Titanic Bar. It was a rocking place from what heard, but no longer the case anymore. It's about the size of a double wide trailer, and I've never seen it crowded even for as small as it is (I lived about two blocks away from it).

To get there: head towards Bia Toi Tiep (a.k.a. Bia Toilette). Cross the levee street where the ramps are (right in front of Bia Toilette). The street going East from the levee street will take you directly to the barge. On the way is a guy who sells roasted chestnuts that are to die for, but don't eat pho bo from the lady across the street (I got sick from her cooking too many times). If you're disappointed (and you will be), walk back to Bia Toilette and enjoy the rest of the night.

If you're into Jazz, then you have to visit Minh's Place (it's my wife's favorite date place in Hanoi). The place will knock your socks off. It's in the Old Quarter a couple blocks from the tourist center on the North side of the lake. Ask anyone, and they will point out the directions for you.
Regular traveler to Vietnam. Lived on Bach Dang Street, 2 blocks from the Titanic Bar. Been to Minh's, Bia Toilette and other drinking spots in Hanoi.
