Do I need a re-entry permit when I go to Vietnam in Jan 2007 ? |
Travel Info I am a permanent resident ( green card ) holder Travel Tips You will definitely need a re-entry permit if you're a green card holder. With out it, you will not be allowed to re-enter the U.S. You should ask your travel agent (or whom you purchased your airline ticket from) for further advice. Others If you expect to be out of the US for longer than one year, you absolutely do need a re-entry permit. You will lose your residency otherwise. http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/services/e... I found this from: http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/services/e... Re-Entry Permit Lawful Permanent Residents (green card holders) use re-entry permits to re-enter the U.S. after travel of one year or more. For LPR鈥檚 returning to the U.S., re-entry permits are generally valid for two years from the date of issuance of the re-entry permit. The LPR should apply for this benefit before leaving the U.S. If you leave the US more than 1 year, u'll need the permit. Otherwise, I dont believe so. Check w/ your travel agent too, just to make sure. :) |
