Is pho really 50 cents in Saigon?

Travel Tips
Trany's answer is correct. A price for a large bowl of Pho in most Saigon restaurants is around 15,000 to 18,000 dongs or from US$ 1 to $1.20 . Still very cheap, about a quarter to a fifth of what it would cost at Vietnamese restaurants in the States.

However, it's entirely possible to get one for half that price from a street vendor in Saigon or out in the provinces and countryside elsewhere in Vietnam. Source(s): http://www.waytovietnam.com/travel-guide...

nope. the converson rate for dong to us dollars is about $1=15,000 dong pho is more expensive in saigon ranging from 15000-30000 and differs by adding toppings

however if u were to go to the country side it will be cheaper around 3000-7000 dong which is about 50 cents
well saigon has different currency so maybe 50 cents in saigon is like 3 bucks here
Vietnamese money is "dong", and it currently trades for about 16,000 VND to $1 USD.
pho = 5000 ==> 12000 VND , 1 USD = 15800 VND , YOU can calculate :)
I wouldn't eat pho in saigon ...period
