Best means of travel between phu quoc island and Kampot? |
Travel Info still planning our Vietnam/cambodian trip.Thanks for all your helpful answers.Now thinking of doing a TNK Mekong delta tour from HCMC to Phu Quoc. Instead of flying back to HCMC with the tour group am considering somehow getting to Kampot in cambodia if possible, then to Phnom Penh and onto Angkor Wat. Any information gladly accepted. Also any info on where to obtain a Cambodian visa along intended route? Travel Tips The easiest way is really to fly back to HCMC and take another flight to Pnom Penh or Seam Reap. However, if you're adventuresome, take a boat from Phu Quoc to Rach Gia via a regularly scheduled express boat run. From Rach Gia, take a bus or taxi to Ha Tien from there you can cross into Cambodia near Tien Bien. There will be Cambodian drivers on the other side of the border eager to take you to Pnom Penh. P.S. I've just been told by my wife there is a direct express boat run from Phu Quoc to Ha Tien as well so you may want to check it out. That would save sometime and road travel. Good luck! As for a Cambodian visa, get it before you go to Asia from the Cambodian Embassy in your country. Otherwise, get one while you're in HCMC from the Cambodian consulate there. Do not wait until you get to Phu Quoc or at the border. Very chancy! Others Rent a boat. Tom T is a veritable vietnamese encyclopedia (English language version) LOL ! Good advice. I would add a day to see the sites in Ha Tien. There is a temple inside a mountain cave that you really should take the time to see. Enjoy your visit ! |
