Travel Tips
Glutinous rice is higher in starch compared to regular rice so it may not be as good for you if you're a diabetic or if you have weight problems (i.e. if you're fat already). It is not higher in gluten as mistakenly thought by some, including another post on this site.

The word "glutinous" means "sticky" and not having anything to do with having "gluten". For more information, check out

Glutinous rice is the same whether you get it in Vietnam, Thailand or the US (where it's imported from Vietnam or Thailand anyway).

Others
As far as I know glutanous rice has a higher content of gluten (obviously) and as such is mainly used for its starcy-ness in puddings and desserts. I don't think it's healthier in fact there are more people these days who are allergic to wheat and gluten...I don't really understand your question...did you mean whether if the glutanous rice you get in Vietnam and Thailand is clean? If that's what you mean then I'd advise doing this to ALL kinds of rice you get in Asia: sift it first, then give it a good rinse before cooking it, as this will get rid of weevil eggs and whatever else that might be breeding in it.
Not really. While glutenous rice is great to eat (I really love it!) it is NOT any better for health than eating any other rice.

One point to note: it is considered high in cholesterol. So, too much of it is not good for people who are proned to heart disease. My mother has been advised this by a dietician when she discovered she had high blood pressure and heart problems.
yes,it s good for health
