Depends where you shop. Food is 10-20% higher than the mainland. Fuel is higher too. Everything is imported.

Well, a lot depends on where you shop. In general, food and gas cost perhaps 10-20% higher than in the US (it's not bad). The ONLY thing cheaper is liquor and cigarettes and possibly diamonds and jewelry, but not sure about the quality of the jewelry. Everything is expensive compared to the US, yes, even beer. But not liquor or cigarettes.
