I'm thinking about getting married in the US Virgin Islands. Which Catholic church is the most picturesque? |
Travel Info I am interested in choosing from all of the Catholic churches, but if I had to choose from a Catholic Church on St. Thomas, which one is the most picturesque? Also how far is it between the islands? What type of transportation is there? If it is a ferry, is it covered? Specifically, if I were staying on one island and got married on another, would my fiancee's hair be a mess by the time we traveled over to the other island? Travel Tips First you can take a ferry to and from St. John but to go to St. Croix you can only fly most of the year. I am from the Virgin Islands and in my opion Holy Cross in St. Croix is the best Others You should probably have your fiancee get her hair done on the island that you plan to marry. There is a nice Catholic church in St. Thomas. You could always take picturesque pictures later at the beach. I am using Paradise Bridal Consultants. http://www.stthomasweddingpackages.com/... It's been awhile since I was in the USVI, about 15 years ago. I was a scuba instructor on St. John and a temporary minister serving in the Nat'l Park on St. John. I'm not familiar with too many Catholic churches on St Thomas, and I do recall that there is one in Cruz Bay on St. John. I don't know if they would fit your definition of picturesque, though. It depends on what you are looking for .. typical tropical, near the beach, overlooking water, etc. As far as travel, there are a couple of choices. On each island, you typically take taxi's. Most of them are open-air ..and many consist simply of benches on the sides of a pickup truck bed that have a canopy over them. There is a regular ferry service between St Thomas and St John. They are completely covered. The trip takes about 20 minutes or so, and puts you in Cruz Bay on St John. Your fiancee's hair shouldn't be too much of a mess, just keep in mind that wherever you are you will be in 70-80 degree weather and it will be salty, humid air. My wife and I got married in Jamaica, and I recall lots of sweating and lots of hairspray!
