What are some great excursions I can do when I go to the US Virgin Islands in October!? |
Travel Info I am going on Royal Carribean cruise there and have never been! So the excursion can't last but a few hours! Travel Tips RCCL will give you a brochure listing tours for the stops on your trip. Look them over to decide what will interest you and be advised you can book the same tour ashore cheaper. RCCL adds a nice markup for the tour. If your return schedule will be near cruising time it might be better to pay the extra & book through RCCL because they will know if their tour is late and will hold the ships departure. Others It all depends on which Islands you go to. If you go to the website of the cruise line you are travelling on you should be able to see all available excursions. Since you aren't going till October, you'll have lots of time to decide exactly what you want to do. I have been to the USVI and it's a beautiful place. If you like to see the island, there should be bus tours to local sites, or, you can find a beach and just relax. Enjoy Seeing as how you'll likely port in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, USVI, you would probably be best off doing one of two things: Charlotte Amalie is the shopping meca of the Caribbean. If you're looking for souveniers, liquor, jewelry, etc. You're best bet is to purchase it here. If shopping's not your thing then grab your swimsuit and take a cab north to Magen's Bay Beach. Definitely one of the top 5 swimming beaches in the Caribbean. If you're short on time, I'd say to stick with shopping in Charlotte Amalie. The seaside town is picture perfect Caribbean. Caribbean traveler 12 years running... Magens Bay. There's taxis at the port that will take you there and back in large groups. Its always in the top-10 beaches list in some magazine. |
