Is it possible to find a job in Virgin Islands if you're from Europe? |
Travel Info Is it difficult to get a work permit in the Hospitality industry? How do you get a work permit in Virgin Islands? Thanks Travel Tips If you are talking the US virgin Islands, this site has helped me, as I am considering a move as well; if you are talking the British VI, I have no clue. http://www.vimovingcenter.com/ Source(s): Own Research Other Travel Tips anything is possible, but remember the pay is generally low and jobs are more often given to locals. Travelling nurse programs are popular. http://www.gotostcroix.com I don't know much about the USVI, but for the British Virgin Islands, you need to get the job before you can come and work in the BVI. The government makes it very difficult for non-belongers (as the locals are called) to get work permits. The hotel/employer needs to prove that they can't find anyone within the BVI who is suitable to the job. You need to send in everything from reference letters to photographs and doctor stuff - yes, including a TB test and a stool sample! It also costs around $1000 for the permit, but usually the employer will pay the fee when they make the application for you. |
