Relocate from NY to US Virgin Islands?

I live and work in New York and I am interested in moving (possibly temporarily) to the US Virgin Islands (St. Thomas or other). Any info on working, living and relocating there would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -Lisa

Travel Tips

I am a Hispanic Virgin Islander here, in the island of St. Croix.
-The eastern & northern part of the island are full of people from the mainland U.S.
-There are many houses for rent & sale here; to the east and north (North is mostly hill with view of the sea, St.Thomas, & St. John).
-The middle-third part of the island is the most populated(generally talkin).
-About 1/2 the population now is of hispanics, mostly Puertoricans (from Vieques island), 2ndly. Santo Domingans (Dom. Rep.), thirdly, Colombians/Venezuelans/Spaniar... etc...
-2nd LARGEST REFINERY IN THE WORLD.

Don't mind previous, scaring answers. There are bad people all over the world even in people's own city. If you are protected by God, why fear? When you are friendly with us, and are greetful to everyone, you'll gain confidence from us (mainly the black people here).

they could use lots of workers there. my parents know someone who moved to st thomas but it was very different at night... his suv's tires got slashed and windows broken because it was a rather nice car. if you bring a car id bring an older one. not a new nice lexus or something. i have gone to st thomas and st john on vacation three times, my parents have gone about 4 times other than that. my favorite is st. john because its not as commercialized and touristy. so many people are moving to the v.i. so realtors are needed... even doctors... owners of stores... just about anything so you're proll in luck in that case. good luck on your decision. be sure to visit and research it before you decide.
