I have a green card and want to travel the carribean. What islands am I limited to? |
Travel Info My green card is original and has not been updated to the new one with the expiration date. I used it to do freeport, bahamas w/o problems but that was 7 years ago. Will I be able to travel all the islands in the carribean or am I limited to US territories? Travel Tips No you are correct - the old ones do not have expiration dates on them. If I recall corredtly, you are allowed to go anywhere as long as you provide proper identification, including a passport. Others Your green card should have an expiration date on it anyway. If you look carefully you should see it somewhere near the bottom of it. If I were you I would check with the US immigration authorities in the state where you live. Your green card is not an issue when it comes to going into the islands, but it is an issue when it comes to your re-entering the US. You want to make sure that it is still valid. There should not be any problems, but check with The American Embassy to make sure that there are not any restrictions or updates. Have a Good trip. |
