Hi people! Going on a cruise the Islands of Tortola and St James?

I'm going to these Islands July26 and July 27, anyone has been on a carnival cruise? What excursion would be a best bet for a family that they would enjoy. And also which places are good to visit, shop, and eat. Somewhere were it is reasonable, inexpensive, and friendly service. Nothing too far away from the port. Which dancing club is nice for tourist where they can have fun a be safe?

We did a stop in Tortola on our cruise and we didn't see much to do there except go to the beach. I don't know St James.
