the virgin islands are very expensive, they are no longer
the British virgin islands but the u .s. virgin islands, and
having gone there numerous times from Puerto Rico,
i can say truthfully, very clean, people are friendly, very
small island, hope you like snorkeling, beaches, swimming
and very hot and humid weather. wages not too good,
but very very beautiful, especially st. johns, now there
is a place to live, just a 20 minute ferry ride from st. Thomas
slower pace and extremely clean, it is a natural reserve
started by the Rockefeller family in the 1950's. schools
are good, public as well as private and the main hospital
is in st. Thomas.

Others
The US Virgin Islands are more expensive than mainland US. Practically everything costs moe. St. Croix is the best island for taking up residence. St. Thomas and St. John are more trourist oriented.
Living in the virgin islands is very nice lots of things to do. The school system is very cool because the kids wears uniform where as in the mainland you have to buy them new outfits often. In the main land you pay taxes but in the virginislkands everything is tax free. Bueatiful beaches to relax and its warm all year round. I recommend st. thomas
